OK- the company is approved and formed as "Prime Skatepark Community Interest Company".

We are waiting for the change of use planning application to be granted, which should be in the next 4 weeks.

In this time we should be ready to complete the second part of a grant application form which should cover the necessary capital to get us started.

So, if all goes to plan, we should be good to start building late August. We're still aiming to be open for Early October.
Whilst we wait for grants and planning permission etc, lets get on the case with fundraising. Any ideas are welcome.

Don't rest yet! More funds = more and better facilities. Get in on all our fund raising events.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The plan is to form a NOT FOR PROFIT indoor skate park venue here in Plymouth Devon to offer a safe controlled environment for younger people to enjoy skateboarding, BMX riding, roller skating, street dancing, grafitti and any other urban activity our members consider appropriate.

We strongly believe the facility will benefit South of England as there are no other facilities of this kind between Truro and Bristol.

We would like to form structured tuition programmes to help more people enjoy healthy activities whilst practicing their skills, personal development, confidence building and social skills in an active sport that can offer opportunities to engage in regional or national competition levels. Users can also engage in some aspects of decision making via a users forum.

We would like to form events and competitions ie Southwest champs and fun day events like Easter, Summer and Halloween Hammers, School tuition. We would like to involve youth workers and counseling services as necessary.

The facilities style will be based around simplicity, graphitti and the constant motion of obstacles. Street incorporation. Flowing. Sessionable. Over 6,000 square foot of glassy smooth concrete with the scope to develop a 9000 sq ft outdoor area.

We are doing this for the community and have already gained the support of many leading companies within our sector and the local authorities and council.

Our company will be a NOT FOR PROFIT company. Our goal is to source as much funding as possible to assist us in what we strongly believe would be an extremely beneficial facility to our community and maximise its full potential and benefits to younger people.

To raise funds we have started negotiating on site advertisement in return for initial support. Ie wall space or obstacle sponsorship.

Any support would be welcome.

We have so far confirmed cash inputs. Material donations. Help towards labor. Products and signed collectables from various suppliers to auction on our fundraising ebay store.

Here's a few pictures taken inside the proposed site.

Indoor area 1 and 2. Walls full of Graffiti. Street obstacles. Donkey rides... kidding

Random blocks, ledges, driveways etc oh and an oil drum...
Behind the red van, there will be an entrace in to the warehouse behind it. This is in the picture below. The ceiling is higher, so this is where the ramp complex will be.
Area 2, this'll be the ramp complex.

Outdoor images coming soon.

We want you to be a part of what we can all achieve together.

Please email us if you would like to join our members committee.

It’s over to you!

ROLL WITH PRIME!!!

Past experience

We've had a similar project in the past called FSP. This was run as a regular business and struggled to sustain its running costs due to the lack of capital and facilities. This facility didn't involve school tuition etc.

The same
happened with The Domain Skatepark in Saltash along with the fact it was less accessible.
